It's been a while!

So, I hear you asking, what have you been doing that excuses your absence? Well, as well as grandma duties I have been busy writing and getting involved in all sorts of exciting projects. This photo was taken at the Heart of Steel signing in Sheffield at the start of the month I have also been part of signings in Leeds, Telford and Stoke so far this year and have one coming up in Blackpool next month.

I have been part of two anthologies so far this year with a third coming out in the next couple of week and over the next few weeks I will bring you up to date with all those projects plus tell you more about my new book coming very soon.

I have to be honest, as I always am with you, that I have struggled a little this year with confidence in my writing, I have been my own worst enemy, sabotaging myself by not having faith in my own abilities. I think we all go through those phases where nothing seems to be going right and it gets harder to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In my case I had to stop and take a look at what I wanted to achieve and see how far I had already come, I also read the reviews on the books I had already published and took note of what was being said.

It has been said you should never read your reviews as there is a huge amount of negativity out there but I have been lucky, even those with a lower star rating are mainly positive, the main complaint was the quantity of work rather than the quality but all were constructive and have helped me to get my head back in the right place to move forward once again.

I am going to try to get back into regular blogging over on my main blog and get this website updated weekly, the summer quarterly newsletter will be going out this week and the journey ahead looks like it is about to start getting exciting.
